Programs
Sojourner Home programs will help foster a sense of belonging for the residents and connect cultures and communities.
Community Involvement
Each Sojourner Home family will have a chance to be “adopted” by another family. These families will help financially support the resettling family by paying a portion of their bills and will also walk along side the family as they learn how to navigate a new city and culture in practical, life-on-life ways. Examples of what this could look like include:
Furnishing apartment
Helping navigate grocery shopping and errand running
Helping navigate public transportation
Family outings including visiting the zoo, a park, hiking, school shopping, library
On Site Support
Sojourner Home will have a community center on site to support many of the resettlement needs in one location. Many resources will be on site including:
ESL Classes
Transportation to medical care
Childcare and after school programs
Introductions to US culture and celebrations of home cultures
Access to Bible study and referrals to non Christian houses of worship if requested
Full-time on-site staff
