Bringing hope and belonging while connecting cultures and communities

Our mission is to welcome newly arrived refugee and asylee neighbors into short-term homes, empowering them to thrive in the resettlement process and relational connections, while equipping and training community partners and faith-based allies with hearts to serve.

Housing and resettlement support are primary needs upon arrival.

In partnership with local resettlement agencies, Sojourner Home will provide short-term housing for up to one year, while helping to secure permanent residency.

Short-term Housing

Creating Belonging

At Sojourner Home, we recognize that refugees have endured the painful upheaval of leaving behind their homes, livelihoods, and communities. Amidst these challenges, there exists a profound human longing for belonging. That's why we go beyond merely offering programs; we provide each resident with meaningful relationships and foster a genuine sense of community right here on our premises. At Sojourner Home, we understand that belonging is not just a necessity but a fundamental right, and we are committed to creating a supportive environment where every individual feels valued, connected, and at home.

Why?

Over the past 10 years, more than 30,000 refugees from over 70 countries have resettled in Washington State through the US Refugee Admissions Program. The greatest need is temporary housing and resettlement resources. However, as many organizations provide both, the even greater human and spiritual need is community, friendship, and encountering the love of Jesus Christ.

When a foreigner lives with you in your land, don’t take advantage of him. Treat the foreigner the same as a native. Love him like one of your own. Remember that you were once foreigners in Egypt. I am God, your God..”

— Leviticus 19:34 MSG
